First day of October and first Sutherland school visit of the Autumn term! Hilary, the Flows learning development officer, and myself set off for Farr primary school in Bettyhill, Sutherland, to deliver a morning assembly on Flow Country creatures
We learned about 4 of the Flow Country’s most prolific inhabitants; hen harrier, frog, deer and dragonfly, who came to life through costumes, artifacts and puzzles. The children explored the life of these creatures, their home and their food, as well as the importance of the Flow Country habitat. Lots of children could identify these creatures through seeing them in their own gardens – how lucky to grow up with the Flow Country on your doorstep!
Thanks to Farr school for a great morning and we hope to see them again soon!
