“We’re going to the Flow, the Flow Country, to dig up some biiig trees!”, the children from Lybster Primary School sang when they came to Strathmore to help the Forsinard work party with regeneration control. Together with a group of children from Noss Primary School, they spent an afternoon learning about the ongoing restoration work on the reserve by actively taking part in the removal of small trees that had self-seeded on the peatlands.

There were many amazed faces when the numbers of the pulled and lopped trees were added up in the end: more than 2500 trees had been removed! The children certainly earned the hot chocolate and biscuits after such an impressive contribution to the restoration work in the Flow Country.
